Raising Your Standards
I remembering several years ago reading a book called; Awaken The Giant Within by Tony Robbins. This is an excellent book to read if you are ready to grow in your personal and professional life. We all have a purpose. In order to continue to grow and walk in your purpose, one has to raise their standards.
What do I mean? One can’t live a fulfilled and successful life unless you make necessary changes in your life. See, our experiences can cause us to make decisions for what path or paths we take in life. Whether they are good or bad decisions.
Raising the standard in your life starts within. You are the only one who can change your life. You are one second from changing your life. I recall Tony Robbins changed his life by making a list of things that he would no longer accept in his life.
“I wrote down all the things I would no longer accept in my life. All the things I would no longer tolerate and all the things that I aspire to becoming.”-Tony Robbins
This is a great exercise to do. I encourage you today to make a list.
When we are walking in our purpose and we're living the life of our dreams, we can't just stay in status quo mode. You continually have to grow. You continually have to work. It's a never- ending process of work, work, work, work, work.
I want you to really start to believe in your own power. You are Powerful. Never discount yourself or your thoughts. Also, in the book Tony spoke of several people who raised the standards in their lives and impacted this world in a phenomenal way. You have the same power as the following people that I call change agents. Martin Luther King Jr., Rosa Parks, Mother Teresa, Mahatma Gandhi, Oprah Winfrey and many more.
“The same power that was available to them is available to you. If you have the courage to claim it. Changing an organization, a company, a country or world begins with the simple step of changing yourself.”-Tony Robbins. So, of course we know what these people accomplished. He's saying you can do the same thing too. All you have to do is just raise your standards. That may mean looking closely at your inner circle and letting some people go.
Now think about this. Doing the same mediocre things on a daily basis will most definitely confine you to a life of conformity. You must step up your game on a daily basis in order for your life to change. “awakengreatnesswithin.com” How do you make this change? Assign yourself an affirmation- Seek and ye shall find, knock and the door shall be open unto you. (Matthew 7:7, KJV)
Meaning sometimes we are only a knock away from obtaining that something that we might be seeking. You will never be able to raise your standards to create a change within yourself; if you're around people who are not game changers and who are not walking in their purpose.
You have to surround yourself with people who will take you higher. Who are show stoppers, who are rock stars, who are divas, who are just doing it and doing it well!
You need positive energy and be surrounded with that circle of amazing people who are dope and just doing what they're called to do. Here are some quotes about raising standards.
Raise your standards and you will arise along with them- Mastin Kipp
Raise your standards to create change. Those who like me, raise your hand. Those who don't raise your standards- Shahrukh Khan
Never apologize for having high standards. People who really want to be in your life will rise to them- Ziad K. Abdelnour
Do you follow me? I want you to get that. Get that in mind and your heart. Truly listen to this. Again, never apologize for having high standards. People who really want to be in your life will rise up to meet them. You should never apologize for having high standards. So do not ever settle for less. You deserve the best. You are amazing. You're awesome. God knows the gift that He put inside of you. You are fabulous and wonderful. So, get up, raise your standards, change yourself, create a change, make a difference in your life and in the world.
